Do you remember Team NetApp, Transitions, T-Mobile, Argos, Skil-Shimano, Reynolds? And do you know what they're called now? In 2020 the Men's World Tour will have 19 teams and the Women's will have 8. Name recognition has always been a controversial topic in the world of cycling. Teams rely on their sponsors more than in any other sport and that has thrown confusion over the years, often changing title names mid-season. Here are the current teams and what they were called from the beginning. Movistar is the longest-running current team since it was called Reynold-Benotto in 1980. Other notable teams that have disappeared or merged with some of the current World Tour teams, were Tinkoff, Saxo Bank, Liquigas, Euskaltel Euskadi, Cervélo Test Team, IAM Cycling, HTC-HighRoad, Katusha.
